Art For Hunger

So before Thanksgiving the company I work for put on an Art For Hunger competition and food drive. Elizabeth and I decided we would head up the design for the PR/Marketing team. We had a fun time coming up with ideas and seeing it come to life. We tied in 007 because the movie was just coming out and we had made a connection at work that Daniel Craig is related to the guy whom the original James Bond was based on. Anyways, check out the pictures. I think our Etch-A-Sketch turned out great. So our scanning team did a DSLR camera out of cans that actually worked to take pictures. I stopeed by with a couple of co-workers to check it out. They had a fun station set up with props. I seriously work for such a fun company and am so grateful for that. Sub for Santa should open up this week and I am excited to be involved. There are so many fun opportunities to participate and serve at work. We do a service project about once a month throughout the year. Anyways I just wanted to...

27 Weeks and Counting

Happy 100th blog post to me! Just had to say that. That's all.  Alright so I am pretty excited because I am actually doing this blog post on the actual day.  So here it goes: I know this picture was in my last blog post but it's my only current belly shot.  How Far Along: 27 weeks. According to some sources this is the start of my 3rd trimester. Weird. Size of the Baby:  Head of Cauliflower Weight gain/loss: Next week I'll know where I stand with this. Just trying to eat healthy and make sure our weekend activities are filled with lots of walking. Sleep:  Even talking about this just make me sad. Oh well. Two night ago I hit a new record. I woke 11 times to go to the bathroom and the 9th time kept me up for an hour afterwards. Couldn't fall back asleep.  Best Moment of the Week: Today. Truly. Today I found out I got a promotion at work. I am so thrilled. With this lovely promotion comes a pay raise and it couldn't have co...

Ringing in the New Year

Better late than never, right? I'll have to just skip over Christmas for now and go straight to January 1st. Work has been keeping me so busy that I haven't had time to blog as much. My first conference is coming up the first of February in SLC, Utah. I am so glad it's local in case anything goes wrong. I am doing my best to plan for everything but things will happen and I'll have to deal. That's that. These first couple of months are going to be incredibly busy and I am sad that I'll be away from Derek so often. We are both excited about the opportunities that I am getting through work but it is bittersweet as I'll be away from Derek a lot these first couple of months. I have RootsTech beginning of February. Then I fly to London (so excited) the end of February to observe an event and work from the UK Office. Derek really wants to come to this one so we'll see what we can do with his school schedule. Added bonus. I get to see Racheal. Yeah! ...

My Job

This is where I work. I was hired on January 27th, 2011 onto the MyFamily.com team and sister company of Ancestry.com. Quickly, I learned everything and I became bored and wanted to find a job that was challenging. Two weeks ago I was promoted to the Executive Office at Ancestry.com. Very exciting. We handle all escalated calls, billing, banking, awards, specials offers, social media, wholesale, etc. We pretty much do a lot of stuff and I am so excited about this. The pay raise isn't a bad thing either. I just found out today I get to be in charge of Wholesale and Social Media. Yeah for getting to manage Facebook and Twitter for Ancestry.com, along with agent and customer calls. I am so grateful for this change of pace and for this answer to my prayers. Two months ago I threw out my back and haven't been able to do much except see a physical therapist 2-3 times a week. Needless to say, these bills have been adding up quickly as I switched to new insurance plans through w...
