To get me feeling festive...

So with Halloween fast approaching I realize that I still don't have a costume for Brooklyn or for us. It'll be amazing if I can manage to put something together. It has been hard living in temporary living the past couple of months, especially this month. All I want to do is decorate for fall and Halloween, bake delicious goodies, and sit out on my back porch enjoying hot cocoa as the weather starts to get colder. We can't even buy any pumpkins cause we will be moving in to our home before Halloween. Hopefully we can still hit up a pumpkin patch and carve some pumpkins before the big day. So to get me in the Halloween spirit I did a couple of things. I bought a cute onesie for Brooklyn and designed something that I can't wait to print out and frame for my mantel once we move in to our very first home. So here is all I have done so far to be festive and it might just hold me off and little longer. It's her 1st Halloween so I had to! You can download t...

Christmastime is here & 36 week update

Last year around Christmas we were moving in to the ghetto of Provo and weren't able to get a Christmas tree until a couple of days before Christmas. This year I wanted to enjoy Christmas a little bit longer. No moving, no traveling, just Derek and I enjoying our last Christmas without a child. We are naturally excited to have her here with us next Christmas but it'll be nice to relax and enjoy one last holiday with just the two of us. We have been making it a priority to really cherish the time we have together. Anyways, who knew Derek would be so picky about a tree? Last year we found one in a matter of minutes. Our 4th stop, at Lowe's, we finally found one we liked for a good price. I am loving the smell throughout my house. We are pretty excited that we got ourselves a Canon Rebel for Thanksgiving and have had fun experimenting with it...hence all the pictures. I honestly have no idea why his mouth is green Victory! The finished product. We really love how...

The Adventures We Have...

Why can't weekends last longer? Good news though - Tomorrow is Friday! This weekend will go by way too fast as Derek and I are taking a weekend getaway to visit the Power family. We are so excited. All of his family will be there for the first time in a little over a year. We can't wait.  So this last weekend was fun. I had a chance to decorate our house. We don't have much room to decorate a lot but a few things go a long way in our lovely spider basement apartment. Good news is the spider only add to our decor...ha Later Saturday afternoon our friends Jackie and Par stopped by with their cute little baby Henrik. It was fun to see them and to see how much Henrik has already grown in his first month of life. Such a cute family. Later we joined my parents and Nathan for a nice dinner. It was fun to get to spend a little bit of time with them in Provo. That night we enjoyed the Pumpkin Patch. It was such a cute place. We plan to go back to do they straw maze t...

I Got Crafty

Today was such a beautiful day.  The weather was just perfect and it started to remind me of fall weather in California.  It's interesting, as soon as Utah hit September the weather decided to get wonderful and more fallish.  I am loving it. So with this nice weather we decided to head out to the local farmer's market and take a ride on the scooter.  It was a beautiful way to start our Saturday.  Being at the Farmer's Market made me get in the mood of fall, Halloween, and craftiness. This sudden mood brought on trips to Micheal's and Walmart to find some of the basic things I needed to get started.  I was determined to make all my decorations this year.  Pinterest has made me desire to be more crafty when I see all the amazing things other people can do. Now that I've done my first project I can't wait to do more. So with this feeling I made some candle holders/decorations and an Autumn Wreath.  I think they turned out great.  Keep in mind...
