Pumpkin Adnvetures

A couple of weeks ago Derek and I found the cutest Pumpkin Patch close to where we live.  We had a blast picking out our pumpkins. As always, Derek took his time making sure his pumpkin would be perfect for his carving design Derek's Perfect Pumpkin I don't know why I am hunched over but this was the best picture we have. We were so excited to have many choices. Happy Fall!       A couple weeks later we finally found the time to carve our pumpkin masterpieces. So last night we set up our carving table and turned on a Halloween movie and started carving. Could he be more excited? Adorable. Our final product. Derek's is on the left. His turned out so well. I love it. Surprisingly, I love mine as well. The ghosts seem to be coming towards you.  We may not love all the scary things of Halloween but we love the holiday and especially the pumpkin carving. It's one of Derek's favorite things. He is very creative and talented so it

The Beauty of Fall

Last Sunday Derek and I took a drive up the canyon in American Fork with my family.  It was in the Unita's.  It was such a wonderful way to celebrate fall.  After all, who knew that it would be freezing and snowing only four days later? No one. The weather was perfect and everything was beautiful.  These pictures were taken on Derek's iPhone so they don't do any justice to the actual  beauty of this place. Happy Fall everyone!  I hope you're enjoying the cool, crisp weather that this season brings and that you have time to admire the beauty around you.

Halloween Lights!

The supplies: Scissors, knife, 3 ox plastic Dixie cups, and the template Some of the Halloween scrapbook paper I picked up Use the template and trace as many as you can fit on the back of the scrapbook pages. Then use the knife to cut a small x in the bottom of the cup. Once they're cute out you can glue them on to the cups. Ta-Da! My cups are all ready to attach to the lights. I used a 100 count Christmas lights that were laying around my parents house. Use one cup per light. It's hard to get a detailed picture of them from far away. Finished product. They turned out so cute. They are now hanging in my house on the wall above the window. It's so nice to have those on and relax/feel festive at night.  I found this on Pinterest and I am so glad I took the time to make these.  If you have any questions about them let me know.  It adds such a cute Halloween flare to our small apartment.
