The Tale of Two Brains

So last night while trying to fall asleep my mind was racing with things I needed to do at work and stress about getting everything done for my first conference. I just couldn't shut my mind up and relax so I could get the rest I need to survive this week.

In an attempt to get my mind thinking about something more relaxing I turned to Derek and simply asked, "What are you thinking about?" His response...

That's right. He was thinking about the opening scene from Dumb and Dumber. I couldn't help but laugh. I wish I could shut my brain off at night and think of simple and funny things.

If you need further proof of this, watch the video below of a comedians take on men's and woman's brains.

I guess the saying is true. Men's minds just work on a much simpler plane sometimes. Jealous. I need to find myself a "nothing" box.

London Bound

I know it's late and I should be sleeping and not blogging but I just wanted to share this exciting news.
Derek and I just booked our flights to London! Derek wasn't sure he could go until yesterday so the hotel room was booked but we were waiting on the flights. We are staying at the Hilton 4 miles away from Buckingham Palace...well once i am officially working, not while vacating. Yeah! I am excited, nervous, and excited. Can't wait to see all the sights and my friend Rach!
The end of February can't come soon enough.
Here is to London!

It's a matter of opinion

So I need some input on this. I have been contemplating for a month or so now to change my hair color. I have finally convinced Derek that life will not be over once the transformation is complete. This is where you now come in. I can't decide if i should leave it as is, hi-light it, or be a little more blonde than that.

I have chosen pictures of previous hair colors so that way it is already easy to tell what it looks like next to my face. I just know I would pick a celebrity hair color because it looks awesome and then on me...well you know, it would look horrid.

Here we go:

Any other ideas? I am all for other options. Let me know. Maybe you think I should do less hi-lights so it just lightens up what I have instead of a drastic change? Not a bad idea actually...ha

So ready...Go! Tell me what you think looks best.

Ringing in the New Year

Better late than never, right? I'll have to just skip over Christmas for now and go straight to January 1st.

Work has been keeping me so busy that I haven't had time to blog as much. My first conference is coming up the first of February in SLC, Utah. I am so glad it's local in case anything goes wrong. I am doing my best to plan for everything but things will happen and I'll have to deal. That's that.

These first couple of months are going to be incredibly busy and I am sad that I'll be away from Derek so often. We are both excited about the opportunities that I am getting through work but it is bittersweet as I'll be away from Derek a lot these first couple of months.

I have RootsTech beginning of February. Then I fly to London (so excited) the end of February to observe an event and work from the UK Office. Derek really wants to come to this one so we'll see what we can do with his school schedule. Added bonus. I get to see Racheal.
 Then I turn a…
