Weekend Project

So about a month ago I found an adorable idea for a Halloween craft project on Pinterest.  This weekend I finally have some free time to do it.  I made the template last night and put one together so I could see what it would look like.  I only have 99 left to do but I am excited for the final project. Check it out.   I have four different kinds of scrap book paper I purchased yesterday and I am so excited to see how they all look on the lights! I hope it turns out as cute as I am imagining it will. Wish me luck.  I'll let you know how it turns out and if I have the patience to do 99 more of these lights!

Random Acts of Kindness

At work I have a numerous amount of tasks that are assigned to me to complete each day.  I do a lot of work for the accounting department so I am the one who always process customers checks.  It has become one of my favorite mindless tasks where I can just listen to music and get to work .    Well earlier this week I opened one of the letters to find a little post-it note inside telling me to, "Have a Great Day!"  It instantly put a smile on my face.  I never receive fun little things like this in the envelopes I open.  It probably took the lady an extra 30 seconds but it completely made my day.  It just reminded me of how simple acts of kindness to family, friends, and strangers can really help brighten a day. I need to be better about looking for more opportunities to serve and be kind to those I interact with whether I know them or not. So thank you random lady for taking some extra time to make sure I had a great day. Mission successful.

I Got Crafty

Today was such a beautiful day.  The weather was just perfect and it started to remind me of fall weather in California.  It's interesting, as soon as Utah hit September the weather decided to get wonderful and more fallish.  I am loving it. So with this nice weather we decided to head out to the local farmer's market and take a ride on the scooter.  It was a beautiful way to start our Saturday.  Being at the Farmer's Market made me get in the mood of fall, Halloween, and craftiness. This sudden mood brought on trips to Micheal's and Walmart to find some of the basic things I needed to get started.  I was determined to make all my decorations this year.  Pinterest has made me desire to be more crafty when I see all the amazing things other people can do. Now that I've done my first project I can't wait to do more. So with this feeling I made some candle holders/decorations and an Autumn Wreath.  I think they turned out great.  Keep in mind this is my first ti

California Dreams

So I haven't had time to blog lately because life has been to hectic.  It needs to slow it's pace just a little.  Right now I am trying to get caught up on things at work and Derek is trying so hard to catch up on all his classes.  We got home late Tuesday night from our California vacation.  Yesterday we finally unpacked and bought food.  My poor husband was starving for real food. We went to to California for my sister-in-law's wedding.  It was tons of fun but busy as well. I think I maybe averaged 5 hours of sleep a night.  Maybe that's a lot to you but I am used to 7.5 to 8 hours a night.  It all started as soon as we got off the plane on Wednesday night.  Shopping and preparing for the bachelorette party I would be co-hosting the very next day.  The party was a blast and deserves a post of it's own with pictures.  We'll have to wait until I get a hold of those from my other sister-in-law. Then there was decorating, rehearsal dinner, more shopping, the wed
