26th Birthday Celebration!

So here are some photos in no particular order but they sure do capture all the joy that I
had on my birthday! Derek did so well on all my gifts. He was taking notes the past couple months when we were shopping and everything he got me was on my "list".  Ok. I don't really have one but I would mention things I like and he took notice. He's so wonderful. He really did a great job making my birthday so special. He wanted to make sure he showed me just how much he appreciates and loves me. Mission accomplished.

Love you Robyn! This letter 100% made my day.

This was especially nice. This has been such a hard week for me, mostly with work. I got an e-mail calling me down to the front desk and these were sitting there waiting. They're just beautiful. It really made my day.

HiChews! This is my favorite Korean candy. So good!
Save the best for last. Derek got me an iPhone 4s!
Unfortunately, the precious phone is on back order so who knows when I'll actually get it. I am hoping before Thanksgiving! Thanks Derek!

My co-workers made it a great day as well. They made me a hilarious Photoshopped birthday card, made me a diet friendly cake, a balloon with candy, let me come down and chat with them during work (Thanks Olivia), and just made me laugh. I also got a sweet card and gifts from Derek's family and his Grandpa Power, and the Tutu's. Then later that night I got a special visit from my friend Jackie. She came to bring me a present and wish my happy birthday. It was nice to see her and catch up. She's such a great friend.

I felt so loved yesterday and it was exactly what I needed. This whole week I was secretly wishing my birthday would be next week because it had started off to be such a bad week. Thank goodness my birthday was exactly what I needed.

It was a busy day and I still have lots of phone calls to return. Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday via text, phone call, cards, flowers, and Facebook. All of it made my day.

Here's it to 26! One step closer to 30! ha

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come early...like before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of January...so not too long after our sweet girl is born. A little about us: Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5 ...

Owen at 6 months

This is my little Owen and he is the most handsome little boy ever. He brings so much joy to our lives. He is an excellent napper, happy 98% of the time, and a great little brother. He laughs at every thing Brooklyn does and is so patient as she pulls and pokes him while they try and play. Here is a glimpse of Owen James at 6 months old: He sits up and loves to play with anything put in front of him He drools like nothing I've ever seen before Can roll from front to back and back to front but mostly rolls from back to tummy Loves tummy time Is obsessed with Brooklyn and Peek a boo Isn't the best night time sleeper but he is getting better every day. He gave me 6 hrs last night...to bad it was from 6 pm to 12 am instead of 12 am to 6 am. Once he's in a deep sleep he does great but just has a hard time getting to sleep at first Smiles at everyone so he can show off his dimples Blabs mama everyday all day but I don't think he has connected it yet...

It's a good reminder to not only seek Him this time of year but thr...
