The Beauty of Fall

Last Sunday Derek and I took a drive up the canyon in American Fork with my family.  It was in the Unita's.  It was such a wonderful way to celebrate fall.  After all, who knew that it would be freezing and snowing only four days later? No one. The weather was perfect and everything was beautiful.  These pictures were taken on Derek's iPhone so they don't do any justice to the actual 
beauty of this place.







Happy Fall everyone!  I hope you're enjoying the cool, crisp weather that this season brings and that you have time to admire the beauty around you.

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come early...like before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of January...so not too long after our sweet girl is born. A little about us: Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5 ...

32 Weeks

32 weeks, 2 days here How Far Along: 32 weeks, 4 days Size of the Baby:  Almost 4 pounds and about 17 inches long Weight gain/loss: 3.6 pounds in the last month bringing me to 12.6 pounds total Sleep:  It's gotten worse. Oh well. At least the trains are the least of my worries now. Any sleep advice for the 3rd trimester? I'll take any I can get. I wake up with the worst back and abdomen pain and I have to rotate multiple times throughout the night since my hips, legs, arms, and hands all start going numb. ha I am ready to buy a recliner and sleep sitting up. It might work out better. Best Moment of the Week: My birthday and my baby shower. (More to come on these later) How could you not have an awesome week with those two things in the mix? Movement: Lots of rolling and jabbing. I feel like the past couple days she has been moving more constantly. I am loving it.
