A Whirlwind Weekend

This past weekend was fabulous.  It was jam packed with so many fun activities.  My dearest, long time friend Robyn was in town for a week.  We went out to dinner and just talked on Wednesday and once I found out she was going to be in town for longer than another day we started making plans.

Friday
Movie Under the Stars 


You sit on the hill underneath the capitol building. Bring blankets, food, and friends. 

The played Despicable Me.  We brought the whole family. It was a blast!

Side story about this.  We get there and park and see that everyone around us is much more prepared.  They have mattresses and tons of food and a lot of them are in their PJ's. So Robyn and I decided to go on an adventure to a local market to get some snacks.  We took my little brother with me.  We thought it wouldn't be a bad walk at all.  Who knew that it would be completely downhill and the walk back up wouldn't be very pleasant in flip flops.  BUT....we made it!  We brought back delicious treats just in time for the movie to start.  

For the adventures on the rest of our fun weekend you'll have to stay tuned. Sneak Peak: This is the Place National Park and boating.  Robyn tried wake boarding for her first time ever!

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come early...like before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of January...so not too long after our sweet girl is born. A little about us: Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. Owen at 6 months

  This is my little Owen and he is the most handsome little boy ever. He brings so much joy to our lives. He is an excellent napper, happy 98% of the time, and a great little brother. He laughs at every thing Brooklyn does and is so patient as she pulls and pokes him while they try and play. Here is a glimpse of Owen James at 6 months old: He sits up and loves to play with anything put in front of him He drools like nothing I've ever seen before Can roll from front to back and back to front but mostly rolls from back to tummy Loves tummy time Is obsessed with Brooklyn and Peek a boo Isn't the best night time sleeper but he is getting better every day. He gave me 6 hrs last night...to bad it was from 6 pm to 12 am instead of 12 am to 6 am. Once he's in a deep sleep he does great but just has a hard time getting to sleep at first Smiles at everyone so he can show off his dimples Blabs mama everyday all day but I don't think he has connected it yet...
