And We've Reached the Single Digits...

What?! Is this real? I am so unprepared. I realized yesterday that I have reached the point of no return...at least my face has. haha Where are my chubby cheeks coming from and why are they now starting to appear? Man oh man. Downhill from here.

Sorry I haven't updated on the many things that have been happening. It has been so busy with my last business trip and hasn't slowed down since returning home.

Good news is that I was able to leave NYC before the hurricane hit. I changed my flight to 7 am on Sunday morning so I wouldn't have any chance of getting stuck. My friends were on the last flight to leave LaGuardia later that afternoon. I just don't think I could've stayed in that hotel any longer...with no power or water. We did have two employees that were stuck out there. They just arrived home last night. So glad they are safe.

Even though I haven't updated on my baby shower or New York or Halloween I did want to get my 31 week update up. I will get back to posting non-baby updates soon. I promise!

Here I am in Central Park. I am so glad you can't really see my chubby cheeks. Thanks Kate!
How Far Along: 31 weeks

Size of the Baby: around 3 pounds and 16 inches long
Weight gain/loss: Skipping for now. Next appointment is next week.
Sleep: My big stomach has started to pull on my back when I lay down making sleep awesome!
Best Moment of the Week: Being home. There really is nothing like it...even if it is the ghetto.
Movement: She's moving a lot now that I am home. On my trip she hardly moved at all. I think she can tell when her mom is stressed.
Symptoms: Exhaustion. Does that count? ha
Food Cravings: Sweet things...but I blame that on Halloween. Who doesn't want to eat candy this time of year?
Gender: Female
Belly Button - In or Out?: Stretched but still in. About 12 years ago I had an appendectomy. One of my scars is right above my belly button. With this whole belly button changing situation it has now become part of it and is hard almost. Too much? Sorry! It's just so weird.
Anything making you queasy or sick?: The fridge at work. It smells horrible and happens to be right next to my desk. Awesome!
What I Miss: Nothing really at this moment. I am just grateful she is growing well as far as I can tell.
What I am looking forward to: My next appointment. I just like to know she's ok. Also, my birthday and baby shower next week.
Nursery: Oh honestly...this question just makes me feel guilty. ha
Emotions: Easily irritated at night when I should be sleeping
Stupid things I have done: Travel to NY right before a hurricane. Maybe? Sounds good.

Weird Story: So I think my poor body couldn't handle all of this flying. Flew to CA on Friday and home on Monday then flew to NY on Wednesday and home on Sunday. That's a lot of traveling in general but my pregnant body just wasn't a fan. During my flight home from NY I could feel my feet expanding. By the end of the flight I couldn't even put my flip flops on. Upon further examination I realized that my knees and ankles were no longer visible. Good times. Grateful that most of it went away within 24 hours.

Thanks to all of your for your support and lovely comments. It is truly appreciated.

  1. Ah, the joys of the 3rd trimester! Sleeping is virtually impossible. We'll definitely have to compare belly buttons sometime. Because of my appendectomy scar, my belly button also never popped out. It just kind of stretched like crazy until it began to blend in with my belly. Now my scar is over twice as wide as it was and my belly button is just the weirdest thing ever. Fun times! So excited for you as always!!

It's a good reminder to not only seek Him this time of year but thr

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come early...like before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of January...so not too long after our sweet girl is born. A little about us: Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5

Please Tell Me...

Please tell me you guys have done this before because I just can't be the only one. This has happened twice to me now and I just feel ridiculous about it. I am shopping and Brooklyn is in her carseat sleeping and the diaper bag is in the main part of the cart. I am getting my groceries and just start putting stuff in around the carseat and diaper bag. I check out, get my bags, and head out to the car. I load the groceries in the car and then take Brooklyn out to put her in the car and I find stuff I haven't paid for. It slid underneath her carseat or the diaper bag and there it is. First time, it was pie crust and the second time it was shampoo. I try to check everywhere but something always seems to slip underneath the carseat and in my hurry I just miss it. I feel so dumb but at this point Brooklyn is buckled in and I am in a hurry to get her home. For those of you with small children you know how difficult it is to repack it all and get back in there when they could wa
