Owen at 6 months

This is my little Owen and he is the most handsome little boy ever. He brings so much joy to our lives. He is an excellent napper, happy 98% of the time, and a great little brother. He laughs at every thing Brooklyn does and is so patient as she pulls and pokes him while they try and play. Here is a glimpse of Owen James at 6 months old:
  • He sits up and loves to play with anything put in front of him
  • He drools like nothing I've ever seen before
  • Can roll from front to back and back to front but mostly rolls from back to tummy
  • Loves tummy time
  • Is obsessed with Brooklyn and Peek a boo
  • Isn't the best night time sleeper but he is getting better every day. He gave me 6 hrs last night...to bad it was from 6 pm to 12 am instead of 12 am to 6 am. Once he's in a deep sleep he does great but just has a hard time getting to sleep at first
  • Smiles at everyone so he can show off his dimples
  • Blabs mama everyday all day but I don't think he has connected it yet
  • Loves his mama
  • Has 2 teeth and they came less than a week apart. Poor kid as been a teething machine the past couple of weeks and it has been rough.
  • Will put anything and everything in his mouth
  • Loves solid foods. I was procrastinating starting so when his aunt Martha came to visit she helped us get started. Loves applesauce, pears, banans and sweet potatoes. Hates potatoes and avocado. Not much else yet but we are working on it!
  • Everyone says he is my twin and that he should be a baby model. I mean, just look at him! He is just so handsome I swear I could stare at his face all day long.
  • Weighs 17 lbs 5.5 0z and is 28.5 inches long. He is one tall boy (99%).
Happy 6 months Owen. We are so grateful you are a part of our family. You bring us joy, make us laugh, and fill our hearts with more love than we knew we could hold. Time is going by so quickly. We just can't believe you are 1/2 year old already.  You keep us busy and I am sure as time goes on you'll keep us even busier.

Sorry I haven't blogged in a long time. I really haven't found the time but I couldn't resist sharing these pictures with our loved ones. Hope all of you are doing well and that you enjoy the upcoming holiday season.

We live in a small two bedroom apartment and there isn't much room to decorate. This morning I was watching the video Wise Men Still Seek Him   and felt inspired to create a printable for my home. It's a good reminder to not only seek Him this time of year but thr

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come early...like before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of January...so not too long after our sweet girl is born. A little about us: Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5

Please Tell Me...

Please tell me you guys have done this before because I just can't be the only one. This has happened twice to me now and I just feel ridiculous about it. I am shopping and Brooklyn is in her carseat sleeping and the diaper bag is in the main part of the cart. I am getting my groceries and just start putting stuff in around the carseat and diaper bag. I check out, get my bags, and head out to the car. I load the groceries in the car and then take Brooklyn out to put her in the car and I find stuff I haven't paid for. It slid underneath her carseat or the diaper bag and there it is. First time, it was pie crust and the second time it was shampoo. I try to check everywhere but something always seems to slip underneath the carseat and in my hurry I just miss it. I feel so dumb but at this point Brooklyn is buckled in and I am in a hurry to get her home. For those of you with small children you know how difficult it is to repack it all and get back in there when they could wa
