Help Needed

My sister is trying to decide which picture to use on her mission plaque. I thought I would ask you guys which one you think is best. Derek and I had fun practicing more with our camera. If you don't like any of honest and we can do a reshoot (due to our photography skills). I think she looks great in all of them.

Anyways, here are our options:

Polka dot, Polka dot, Polka dot afro {That's in honor of our brother Nathan who can't stop singing that...}

Thanks for all of your help!

  1. I like the second one the best, but they all look great!

  2. Second, where is she going to serve?!

  3. I like the second one best. She blends in with the trees a little bit in the first.

  4. it looks like the second one wins it - i also agree. but i do like the first one too. :)

  5. i don't know if she decided already (I may be too late) but i agree with everyone else.. the second one!

  6. Okay I like the first one even though I am way outnumbered. The background is really pretty and so is your sister!

So the past couple of days I have really been thinking about how I can reflect the true meaning of Christmas in my home. We live in a small two bedroom apartment and there isn't much room to decorate. This morning I was watching the video Wise Men Still Seek Himand felt inspired to create a printable for my home. It's a good reminder to not only seek Him this time of year but throughou…

Hazel's Birth Story

Warning: This is long and is written in detail as it's meant to be my record of her birth.
Well it's been a long time since I've blogged. Life gets busy and it's hard to keep up. However, I found myself wanting to record the details of Hazel's birth story. She's already 4.5 months old and I am finding that I am starting to forget small things. I want to write them all down before I forget. So here I am, sharing our story, so that I can remember and share it with her someday.

Hazel Anne Power joined our family on September 3, 2017 at 8:40 pm weighing 7 lbs 5 oz and 19.5 inches long. She is my smallest baby. She's 6 oz less than Brooklyn and 1 inch shorter. She is just darling and we are so glad she's a part of our family.
So I guess I'll start at the beginning. I found out I was pregnant right after Christmas time and was able to share the news with my family that was in town for the holidays. We return home from our trip and I start back up playin…

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story.
I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of not too long after our sweet girl is born.
A little about us:
Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5 years. We are tr…
