Heaven Sent Weekend & 33 weeks

So I mentioned last week that I was really looking forward to this weekend. I knew it was going to be relaxing and exactly what I needed.

Friday afternoon started with a prenatal massage and a pedicure. Everything was perfect. My parents and siblings set me up with this for my birthday. I have never felt so awesome during pregnancy. I wish that massage could've lasted like 4 hours. I felt relaxed for the first time in a long time. I need to get massages more often. I also loved that I got to have my feet taken care of. They even gave me a paraffin wax treatment. Loved every minute of this.

Later that night Derek and I headed to Park City for a weekend getaway. For my birthday I told him that I needed a nice weekend away from work, cold weather, stresses of being pregnant, etc. We found a Groupon deal for a condo. So glad we did it. We got a great price on the place and it had everything I needed: fireplace, huge jacuzzi bathtub, cable TV, a nice kitchen. Mostly I just needed the huge bathtub and everything else was an added bonus. I took three baths in the over-sized jetted tub. I would've taken one more if I had the time. My joints and muscles finally got to feel weightless and it was wonderful. It was the break my body needed.

We did some fun things on Saturday as well. First thing we did was head up to Olympic Park to watch part of the Men's Bobsled World Cup. We got to see one of team USA's sleds head down the track. If we had been more prepared for the cold temperature and rain we would've stayed on the mountain longer. We then headed down to the city and took advantage of Starbuck's BOGO on holiday drinks. We tried the Caramel Creme Brule Hot Chocolate. It was actually really tasty and helped us warm up. Later that evening we headed to the Tanger Outlets for the Tree Lighting Ceremony. There were carolers, coupons (why we went), and treats. We definitely took advantage of those coupons and bought Derek some nice things. We ended the night at Loco Lizard Cantina.  Best Mexican food I've had in Utah. It was the perfect way to relax and kick start the holiday's. So grateful to my family and Derek for a much needed weekend of relaxation.

Now it's time for my 33 week update. The picture above (obviously not right above...ha) was taken at 33 weeks, 2 days.

How Far Along: Today I am 33 weeks, 4 days.
Size of the Baby: About 4 pounds and over 17 inches long
Weight gain/loss: Find out tomorrow
Sleep: It is what it is. I appreciate all of your advice and tips. I already have a body pillow and maybe I am not using it right but I think it makes matters worse. I am tempted to try sleeping sitting up one of these nights if I can find a comfortable position. We shall see how that goes.
Best Moment of the Week: The above mentioned weekend of relaxation. I loved getting pampered and spending every moment with Derek. We are just so busy these days and it keeps getting worse. I loved that I had him all to myself. No homework. No group meetings. No work. It was perfect.
Movement: Ok our little girl was just the best this weekend. I have mentioned before that she can tell when I am stressed and just doesn't move very much...at all. Well since I was so relaxed this weekend Derek and I got to see some of her best moves yet. We just loved it. She was jabbing and kicking all night long. We got to see her move underneath my stomach and wondered what she was up to and where her head or feet were. We even got to feel a little elbow, heel, or knee. Our guess is it was a elbow or knee. It was so pointy and tiny. We loved it. Thank you baby girl for helping your mom know you're alive and well. I worry way too much.
Symptoms: Tension. Exhaustion. Lots of lower back pain. She's growing big! I love it.
Food Cravings: Cottage cheese still. Weird, I know. Cereal. Milk. Mashed potatoes.
Gender: Baby girl
Belly Button - In or Out?: Still in.
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Besides the things I normally list there isn't anything new.
Labor Signs: No, not that I am aware of and I don't want to see them for at least another 3-6 weeks. In 3 weeks she'll be full term and I am due in about 6 weeks so I think that's a good range.
What I Miss: Nothing really. I have come to accept that things are just going to have to wait and right now I feel ok about that.
What I am looking forward to: My last day in the office. December 14th. Can't wait. Also, Thanksgiving and hanging out with my family. Feeling more movement from baby girl. My appointment tomorrow. I love to hear her heartbeat and know that she is still growing strong.
Nursery: Thanks for your wonderful comments about how having a perfect nursery doesn't make you a better mother. That makes me feel better. As long as she has somewhere to sleep I am doing good, right? ha (Note to self: Buy her something to sleep in)
Emotions: Just tired. Sometimes a little crazy but mostly just tired. Excited as well for the holidays.
Stupid things I have done: Nothing really comes to mind right now so that's a good thing!

Thanks for all of your support. I love any and all advice. Hope all of you enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by those you love and delicious food.

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come early...like before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of January...so not too long after our sweet girl is born. A little about us: Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5

Please Tell Me...

Please tell me you guys have done this before because I just can't be the only one. This has happened twice to me now and I just feel ridiculous about it. I am shopping and Brooklyn is in her carseat sleeping and the diaper bag is in the main part of the cart. I am getting my groceries and just start putting stuff in around the carseat and diaper bag. I check out, get my bags, and head out to the car. I load the groceries in the car and then take Brooklyn out to put her in the car and I find stuff I haven't paid for. It slid underneath her carseat or the diaper bag and there it is. First time, it was pie crust and the second time it was shampoo. I try to check everywhere but something always seems to slip underneath the carseat and in my hurry I just miss it. I feel so dumb but at this point Brooklyn is buckled in and I am in a hurry to get her home. For those of you with small children you know how difficult it is to repack it all and get back in there when they could wa
