Paris: Picture Overload

So it has been quite the ordeal trying to find the best pictures to share. Derek and I just loved Paris and had such a blast. We only spent a couple quick days there but are so glad we had the opportunity to go.

For those of you who don't know, I've been waiting a long time to go to Paris. I have been dreaming about seeing all the things I had heard about from my parents, siblings, and french teachers for many years. Dream come true. Thanks for giving me an awesome job.

My whole entire family and Derek's entire family have all been to Europe. Derek and I were the last ones left to take a trip overseas and loved every minute of it.

Here are some highlights:

Feeling pretty exhausted at the CDG Airport
Our first sneak peak at the Eiffel Tower.
The view from our window where we were staying
We thoroughly enjoyed Musee du Louvre
Derek LOVES to study

The view on our way to Champs Elysees
Everything was breathtaking
We love water
There was the bets local bakery. This croissant was so good.
On our way up all the stairs to Sacre Couer

The walk to Sacre Couer was my favorite

My favorite spot in Paris. The view was fabulous. I never wanted to leave
Lunch on our way down all those stairs

It was more beautiful than i thought it could be
The rose window at Notre Dame. There was a sermon going on when we visited!
Arc de Triomphe
Laduree. The best.
Thanks Martha for leading me to the best Hot Chocolate ever
We just couldn't resist them
So excited to drink this stuff!
Another view from our window

Now of course this doesn't include everything that I wanted to share but it does give you a little taste in to all the great things we got to see and do while in Paris. Our couple of days were booked but it was so worth it.

Goodbye Paris! We are off to London!

  1. LOVE this! (jealous) I'm so glad you were able to enjoy it. I was afraid would take up all your time. Can't wait for some London pictures!

  2. These pictures brought back so many memories! I'm glad you guys got to go to Europe together. How romantic. ;) Hopefully we'll hang out soon!

  3. How fun! I'm pretty jealous! And, don't worry, you beat me to Europe. Scott assures me that he'll take me by the time we've been married for 20 years... I told him he better hope I stick around that long:) Just a joke!

  5. Gah! I love EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of these days I will get Luke to take of these days ha. Laura you look like you fit right in. Perfect.

So the past couple of days I have really been thinking about how I can reflect the true meaning of Christmas in my home. We live in a small two bedroom apartment and there isn't much room to decorate. This morning I was watching the video Wise Men Still Seek Himand felt inspired to create a printable for my home. It's a good reminder to not only seek Him this time of year but throughou…

Hazel's Birth Story

Warning: This is long and is written in detail as it's meant to be my record of her birth.
Well it's been a long time since I've blogged. Life gets busy and it's hard to keep up. However, I found myself wanting to record the details of Hazel's birth story. She's already 4.5 months old and I am finding that I am starting to forget small things. I want to write them all down before I forget. So here I am, sharing our story, so that I can remember and share it with her someday.

Hazel Anne Power joined our family on September 3, 2017 at 8:40 pm weighing 7 lbs 5 oz and 19.5 inches long. She is my smallest baby. She's 6 oz less than Brooklyn and 1 inch shorter. She is just darling and we are so glad she's a part of our family.
So I guess I'll start at the beginning. I found out I was pregnant right after Christmas time and was able to share the news with my family that was in town for the holidays. We return home from our trip and I start back up playin…

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story.
I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of not too long after our sweet girl is born.
A little about us:
Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5 years. We are tr…
