Day 1: The Shred

A couple of posts back I talked about how I was going to start the 30 day shred challenge as soon as I got the DVD.  Well lucky me, it came yesterday after work so I decided today would be my first day.  My goal is to do it every morning before work so i can be inspired to eat better all day.  Also, I am hoping it'll help me have more energy in the morning so work doesn't seem to drag on.

So here is how I would describe the first day:
  • Successful
  • Exhausting
  • Hard
It took me forever to cool down..the cold shower didn't help that much.  I was sweating buckets.  It was hard and sad to say I am only on level one. BUT I DID IT!

Question: Those of you who have done the shred, what have you found to be most successful? I am planning on doing each level for ten days.  Am I supposed to do all three levels everyday?  I am still trying to figure it out so any tips and suggestions you can offer I would appreciate it.

Hope tomorrow morning goes just as well and that I am not quite as worn out afterwords. (I could barely keep my arms up to wash my hair....ha)

On my way to success

  1. Good luck!!! I hope it goes well for you! I too am trying to work on working out regularly and all that :)

  2. That sounds like a good plan. I have a friend doing it right now and she said doing level one for 10 days was best. I've done it but I didn't do it until I had been doing Jillian Michaels online workouts so I can't really say. By the time I began doing the shred I had to do a level twice a day in order to equal the workouts I was already doing. So good for you. Tomorrow you probably will be feeling it but I want to encourage you to keep it up and I know you will. You are in pretty good shape and sore muscles isn't going to be new to you.

    You go girl.

  3. Thanks for your support guys. I appreciate it. Momma Smith...I needed your words of wisdom. This morning I was so sore but I had to get out of bed to do it.I didn't think I was capable of doing anymore pushups but somehow managed. Thanks for your wise advice.

  4. Laura that is AWESOME! Good for you. I need to get more motivated like you.

It's a good reminder to not only seek Him this time of year but throughou…

Happenings of Lately

So for so reason blogger isn't working right with my pictures so I'll give a brief synopsis from here:
1-3: Lombardi Farms: It is this pumpkin patch, petting zoo, corn maze, sunflower maze and so much more. We went and spent the afternoon there. It was so fun. Some of the pumpkins were huge as you can see.
4: Johnnie's New York. It was a restaurant down on the Promenade in Santa Monica. It was beautiful down there. We walked around the Promenade, ate dinner, rode the ferris wheel down on the pier, and finished the night off with some gelato. It was so good. Such a fun evening. Before we leave California I am trying to do a lot of the California things.
5: Hollywood. I guess it's an experience you have to have once but I really hated it. It was dirty and nothing like I imagine and you could just really see the sin all around. On the bonus side I found the Olsen twins & John Stamo's star. That was fun. No Miley Cyrus though.
6-7: Griffith Observatory:…

Hazel's Birth Story

Warning: This is long and is written in detail as it's meant to be my record of her birth.
Well it's been a long time since I've blogged. Life gets busy and it's hard to keep up. However, I found myself wanting to record the details of Hazel's birth story. She's already 4.5 months old and I am finding that I am starting to forget small things. I want to write them all down before I forget. So here I am, sharing our story, so that I can remember and share it with her someday.

Hazel Anne Power joined our family on September 3, 2017 at 8:40 pm weighing 7 lbs 5 oz and 19.5 inches long. She is my smallest baby. She's 6 oz less than Brooklyn and 1 inch shorter. She is just darling and we are so glad she's a part of our family.
So I guess I'll start at the beginning. I found out I was pregnant right after Christmas time and was able to share the news with my family that was in town for the holidays. We return home from our trip and I start back up playin…
