Once in a lifetime

There are times when we reflect on our lives and we can see just how much God has blessed us and provided for us. During those times of reflection you can come to see how God has blessed you through others. He has blessed me through my family and husband of course but usually He'll throw in a friend like no other. A friend that understands you. Someone who lifts you up and know when you are having a hard time staying afloat. That is my friend Emily.

Emily is a gem. I love her dearly. We met on our missions and the moment we met we knew we were friends and had the same life but were somehow separated at birth. Since then there have been numerous experiences where I have felt an overwhelming amount of gratitude for the blessing of Emily in my life. Recently I've been having a hard time adjusting to a new place and a new job and a new lifestyle. It hasn't been an easy transition on me. This past weekend I spent time with Emily and it was as it always is. Joyful. Uplifting. Hilarious. And exactly what I needed. Emily is one of those once in a lifetime friends that will be your friend for a long time. We were meant to be friends and God knew that. I am so grateful and so blessed.

I do have other wonderful friends as well and more people than I can mention that have had such a great and profound impact on my life. Here are some of them:

Me & Robyn: Another once in a lifetime

My Family

Jackie & I

Josh and Govanni (Not picture: Irma)

Now of course there are so many more that have forever impacted my life. To those mentioned and those not mentioned, thank you for being a blessing in my life.

  1. you are precious. and a once in a lifetime for me, as well! i call people like you my eternal friends... like tender josh and giovani. LOVE THEM. and you. :D

  2. Awww, Laura I feel exactly the same way about you. You've always been there for me, thank you so much.

So the past couple of days I have really been thinking about how I can reflect the true meaning of Christmas in my home. We live in a small two bedroom apartment and there isn't much room to decorate. This morning I was watching the video Wise Men Still Seek Himand felt inspired to create a printable for my home. It's a good reminder to not only seek Him this time of year but throughou…

Happenings of Lately

So for so reason blogger isn't working right with my pictures so I'll give a brief synopsis from here:
1-3: Lombardi Farms: It is this pumpkin patch, petting zoo, corn maze, sunflower maze and so much more. We went and spent the afternoon there. It was so fun. Some of the pumpkins were huge as you can see.
4: Johnnie's New York. It was a restaurant down on the Promenade in Santa Monica. It was beautiful down there. We walked around the Promenade, ate dinner, rode the ferris wheel down on the pier, and finished the night off with some gelato. It was so good. Such a fun evening. Before we leave California I am trying to do a lot of the California things.
5: Hollywood. I guess it's an experience you have to have once but I really hated it. It was dirty and nothing like I imagine and you could just really see the sin all around. On the bonus side I found the Olsen twins & John Stamo's star. That was fun. No Miley Cyrus though.
6-7: Griffith Observatory:…

Hazel's Birth Story

Warning: This is long and is written in detail as it's meant to be my record of her birth.
Well it's been a long time since I've blogged. Life gets busy and it's hard to keep up. However, I found myself wanting to record the details of Hazel's birth story. She's already 4.5 months old and I am finding that I am starting to forget small things. I want to write them all down before I forget. So here I am, sharing our story, so that I can remember and share it with her someday.

Hazel Anne Power joined our family on September 3, 2017 at 8:40 pm weighing 7 lbs 5 oz and 19.5 inches long. She is my smallest baby. She's 6 oz less than Brooklyn and 1 inch shorter. She is just darling and we are so glad she's a part of our family.
So I guess I'll start at the beginning. I found out I was pregnant right after Christmas time and was able to share the news with my family that was in town for the holidays. We return home from our trip and I start back up playin…
