To get me feeling festive...

So with Halloween fast approaching I realize that I still don't have a costume for Brooklyn or for us. It'll be amazing if I can manage to put something together.

It has been hard living in temporary living the past couple of months, especially this month. All I want to do is decorate for fall and Halloween, bake delicious goodies, and sit out on my back porch enjoying hot cocoa as the weather starts to get colder. We can't even buy any pumpkins cause we will be moving in to our home before Halloween. Hopefully we can still hit up a pumpkin patch and carve some pumpkins before the big day.

So to get me in the Halloween spirit I did a couple of things. I bought a cute onesie for Brooklyn and designed something that I can't wait to print out and frame for my mantel once we move in to our very first home.

So here is all I have done so far to be festive and it might just hold me off and little longer.

It's her 1st Halloween so I had to!

You can download this free printable here. You can print it out (it's a 4x6) for less than $.10 and frame it. The whole project will be only a couple of dollars and will be a great addition to your mantel, end table, nightstand, etc. Hope you all enjoy it. Next post I can't wait to talk about my store that I have opened and how I am excited to see what the future holds.

Have a wonderful October!

It's a good reminder to not only seek Him this time of year but thr...

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come early...like before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of January...so not too long after our sweet girl is born. A little about us: Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5 ...

Tot School: Week 1

A couple of weeks ago I was talking to some of my friends about starting some kind of regular class where we can get our kids together once a week to learn and play. As an added bonus, we all get to chat as well. That night I started researching different activities that are good for kids ages 18 months-3 years. I put together an 8 week schedule that will include different themes each week so that our children can be exposed to many different things. I couldn't wait to get started. I e-mailed my friends my ideas/schedule and once I knew who could participate I went shopping to pick up supplies. Everything I have needed so far I found at the Dollar Tree and Micheal's. Today was our first class and it was a lot of fun. Our theme this week was animals. As everyone arrived I let them pick out a folder and decorate it. I also took a picture with the kids and their moms. We started by reading a couple of animal books I had on hand. The kids loved them because they were flap books a...
