Weren't we cute?

Ok first thing. Can we talk about how it has been snowing all day long? It hasn't stopped since last night. I went outside for one brief moment today and nearly froze to death. So grateful I am working from home on a day like today. My car is covered in snow and my only two shoe options at this point are flip flops or slippers. No jacket that fits either. So grateful to be inside and warm.

Now that I have addressed the snow factor I wanted to share some adorable photos. So ever since I have become pregnant I have constantly wondered about what our baby girl will look like. It's something I think and sometimes dream about in these final weeks of pregnancy. I am so excited to see her cute little fingers grab hold of mine and to see if she has hair/no hair, her cute nose, her eyes, and everything about her. I am getting excited just thinking about it now. As you know I am in the final stretch of pregnancy, only 15.5 days until our due date. I can't stop thinking about her and what she'll be like and when she'll grace us with her presence. My guess is late but I would love for her to come on time. I am not ready for her to come early but glad to know that she is full term now and can come safely at any time.

With all of these thoughts racing around in my head I started to look through baby pictures of Derek and myself. Derek was so cute as a baby and toddler I can hardly even handle it. I hope our girl has some of his cuteness and that one day we have a boy just like him. As you can see from my pictures I had some cute moments and some crazy hair moments. Those bangs...ha Anyways, see for yourself.

Look at his smile! It is too cute to handle.
Love his blonde hair and blue eyes.
I feel like I look so much like an Ellsworth in that upper left picture. Love that you can still see my dimples today.
So what do you think? We are bound to have a cute baby girl, right? I am so excited to share with all of you the news of our sweet girl and I appreciate all of your support and excitement throughout everything.

It's a good reminder to not only seek Him this time of year but thr...

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come early...like before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of January...so not too long after our sweet girl is born. A little about us: Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5 ...

Tot School: Week 1

A couple of weeks ago I was talking to some of my friends about starting some kind of regular class where we can get our kids together once a week to learn and play. As an added bonus, we all get to chat as well. That night I started researching different activities that are good for kids ages 18 months-3 years. I put together an 8 week schedule that will include different themes each week so that our children can be exposed to many different things. I couldn't wait to get started. I e-mailed my friends my ideas/schedule and once I knew who could participate I went shopping to pick up supplies. Everything I have needed so far I found at the Dollar Tree and Micheal's. Today was our first class and it was a lot of fun. Our theme this week was animals. As everyone arrived I let them pick out a folder and decorate it. I also took a picture with the kids and their moms. We started by reading a couple of animal books I had on hand. The kids loved them because they were flap books a...
