Tribute

So lately I feel like I've been a little hard to handle. My emotions have been out of control. Lots of crying and whining due to feeling sick, the spider attack, and the car accident. I sound like such a treat. As I have reflected on these past couple of weeks I decided it was time to pay tribute to those who have supported me, listened to me, and helped me. I couldn't have done it without you.

Derek - Thanks for always listening to me complain about how I don't feel well. You've been a great help with dinners, laundry, and keeping our house clean. Also, thanks for letting me play with the iPad when I feel it's my turn. You're a trooper and I couldn't survive without you.

Mom & Dad - In all honesty I am surprised you pick up the phone still when you see I am calling...ha After feeling sick, the spider attack, and crying out of control after my car accident I am so grateful you still answer. I would've never been able to stop freaking out after some of these events if it wasn't for the two of you. Thanks.

Rick & Anne Marie - Thank you for always being so thoughtful and wonderful. Your supportive and encouraging texts always brighten my day. Your recent survival kit is the best thing ever. It has helped me feel so much better and couldn't have come at a more perfect time. The two of you always know what to do to help out.

My family & friends - After the car accident I received so many supportive texts and phone calls. Thanks for checking in to see if I was ok. Olivia, Kate, and Rach you were the first ones to know and your support was the best. Thank you everyone.

Ok so moving on past the tribute section..time for pictures to recap our 4th of July.

From my ER visit. I love how they will never change my middle initial to E.

He always loves putting on a show...ha This was for the cold water.
Nate and Derek. Do we love how tan Nate is? Ridiculous.
Fireworks in Sugar House. The crowd got out of control as the night progressed.
Derek has been kind enough to let me buy him new clothes.
I think he looks so handsome.  Thank you Banana Republic for your great deals.
I happen to love this outfit. Bring on the job interviews...He's graduating soon!
Hope you all had a wonderful 4th!

And another thanks for putting up with the ugly blog format I can't seem to fix...one day.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your holiday season. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So the past couple of days I have really been thinking about how I can reflect the true meaning of Christmas in my home. We live in a small two bedroom apartment and there isn't much room to decorate. This morning I was watching the video Wise Men Still Seek Him   and felt inspired to create a printable for my home. It's a good reminder to not only seek Him this time of year but thr...

Owen at 6 months

This is my little Owen and he is the most handsome little boy ever. He brings so much joy to our lives. He is an excellent napper, happy 98% of the time, and a great little brother. He laughs at every thing Brooklyn does and is so patient as she pulls and pokes him while they try and play. Here is a glimpse of Owen James at 6 months old: He sits up and loves to play with anything put in front of him He drools like nothing I've ever seen before Can roll from front to back and back to front but mostly rolls from back to tummy Loves tummy time Is obsessed with Brooklyn and Peek a boo Isn't the best night time sleeper but he is getting better every day. He gave me 6 hrs last night...to bad it was from 6 pm to 12 am instead of 12 am to 6 am. Once he's in a deep sleep he does great but just has a hard time getting to sleep at first Smiles at everyone so he can show off his dimples Blabs mama everyday all day but I don't think he has connected it yet...

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come early...like before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of January...so not too long after our sweet girl is born. A little about us: Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5 ...
