On The Road Again

So tomorrow I am headed here...

Sadly not the best picture of us but I still love it
I am pretty excited to head there again and spend a week in this fabulous city. It is for work so I don't know how much site seeing I will get in...so my list of things to do are shorter than if this trip was all about me.

  • Eat lots of delicious, buttery croissants
  • Bring home Laduree for Derek (also eat some while there)
  • Find Le Petit Prince pop-up book for Martha
  • Go to Angelina's and sip down their velvety hot chocolate
  • Go to Versailles (This one will be a stretch since it's a day trip to get out there and see everything. However, I hear the gardens in the summer time are gorgeous)
  • Eat Italian ice
  • Eat a delicious warm crepe with Nutella all melty inside
  • Eat a croque-monsieur
  • Conquer my fear to travel on the metro alone
  • Find gifts for loved ones
  • Oh and work....
I love how most of this list is about me eating delicious food. Oh well...why not while I'm there, right?

Any other things I should try to fit in while I am over there?

I would love to see the fireworks by The Eiffel Tower on Bastille Day but not sure I want to deal with all those crowds and pit-pocketers by myself. We shall see.

Here we go again!

  1. The gardens at Versailles are well worth the time it takes to get there. I would love to make it back to Paris someday! Have such a good time. We should get together when you get back.

  2. I agree with the above comment about Versailles. Also, I got totally fat on my trip to Europe because I figured the food was a big part of the experience. Live it up, girl!

    1. You are too sweet. I am very lucky to get to go there for work. I work at Anestry.com and I get to travel about once a month. I consider myself to be very blessed.

UPDATE:  Hello Everyone! I have noticed that this post has been receiving a lot of traffic via pinterest and The Dating Divas Website. I wanted to welcome you all. I still do free printables for different seasons and holidays but no longer post them on my personal blog. We'd love it if you'd follow along on our design journey. You can find us on Facebook ! I also post all of my free printables here . Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your holiday season. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So the past couple of days I have really been thinking about how I can reflect the true meaning of Christmas in my home. We live in a small two bedroom apartment and there isn't much room to decorate. This morning I was watching the video Wise Men Still Seek Him   and felt inspired to create a printable for my home. It's a good reminder to not only seek Him this time of year but thr...

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come early...like before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of January...so not too long after our sweet girl is born. A little about us: Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5 ...

Tot School: Week 1

A couple of weeks ago I was talking to some of my friends about starting some kind of regular class where we can get our kids together once a week to learn and play. As an added bonus, we all get to chat as well. That night I started researching different activities that are good for kids ages 18 months-3 years. I put together an 8 week schedule that will include different themes each week so that our children can be exposed to many different things. I couldn't wait to get started. I e-mailed my friends my ideas/schedule and once I knew who could participate I went shopping to pick up supplies. Everything I have needed so far I found at the Dollar Tree and Micheal's. Today was our first class and it was a lot of fun. Our theme this week was animals. As everyone arrived I let them pick out a folder and decorate it. I also took a picture with the kids and their moms. We started by reading a couple of animal books I had on hand. The kids loved them because they were flap books a...
