Harry Potter

Last weekend Derek and I had so much fun.  Friday night we went to my friend, Traci's, wedding reception.  It was wonderful to see her so happy and so beautiful.  Then we went over to our good friend Jackie and Par to celebrate Jackie's Birthday.  Par made dessert and we had fun playing some games.  We even learned a new game called donkey.  So glad we were able to celebrate Jackie's birthday with her.  I've known her for quite a while now and it's so fun to still be friends.

Saturday was all about the boat.  It was Martha's family boating birthday celebration trip.  You saw pictures in last weeks post. Then we rushed back, sun burned and all, and quickly got ready to wait in line to see Harry Potter.  I was so excited to see it.  Maybe I am not the world's biggest fan because i haven't read all of the books but I still love Harry Potter.  Plus, I have read the second half of the 7th book and that counts for something right? ha  We ate Jimmy John's and played cards while we waited.

Anyways, I LOVED IT!  It was so good, even in 3D.  I got a little teary eyed...ha It was fun to spend a night out with my husband on a real date.  I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband and friends who allow me to spend time with them.

  1. Harry Potter was the best movie EVER! I cried. A lot. So amazing. Anyway, you should come down to Salem sometime in the near future. Maybe for dinner or something?

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your holiday season. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So the past couple of days I have really been thinking about how I can reflect the true meaning of Christmas in my home. We live in a small two bedroom apartment and there isn't much room to decorate. This morning I was watching the video Wise Men Still Seek Him   and felt inspired to create a printable for my home. It's a good reminder to not only seek Him this time of year but thr...

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come early...like before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of January...so not too long after our sweet girl is born. A little about us: Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5 ...

Tot School: Week 1

A couple of weeks ago I was talking to some of my friends about starting some kind of regular class where we can get our kids together once a week to learn and play. As an added bonus, we all get to chat as well. That night I started researching different activities that are good for kids ages 18 months-3 years. I put together an 8 week schedule that will include different themes each week so that our children can be exposed to many different things. I couldn't wait to get started. I e-mailed my friends my ideas/schedule and once I knew who could participate I went shopping to pick up supplies. Everything I have needed so far I found at the Dollar Tree and Micheal's. Today was our first class and it was a lot of fun. Our theme this week was animals. As everyone arrived I let them pick out a folder and decorate it. I also took a picture with the kids and their moms. We started by reading a couple of animal books I had on hand. The kids loved them because they were flap books a...
