Scott, Kim, and Addie visit

So today Derek and I finally got an Internet connection so I can update the blog. We have been procrastinating until we got our new computer! It looks a little like this:

Our keyboard isn't as small though. It is in proportion to the monitor. Then to make things even better in our apartment we bought a book case and then my parents surprised us with a flat screen TV and a blue ray player for our late Christmas gift! We are loved and spoiled and so grateful for the wonderful families we have.

So they only exciting thing that has happened lately is that my brother and his wife and cute little baby came to visit for his spring break. It was so much fun. For the first time in a long time I felt that there was something to do. Here are some pictures of my adorable niece, Addie.


She loved the thin mints. She even gave me a kiss because I gave her one.

So other than that nothing exciting is happening. Derek is doing well in school and adjusting fine. Work is boring but I survive.

    We loved getting to see you guys so much! And don't worry, there's a lot less drama when you're best friend is your husband, so I wouldn't stress about finding other ones:) If only we were closer, then we could hang out!!!

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come early...like before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of January...so not too long after our sweet girl is born. A little about us: Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5 ...

32 Weeks

32 weeks, 2 days here How Far Along: 32 weeks, 4 days Size of the Baby:  Almost 4 pounds and about 17 inches long Weight gain/loss: 3.6 pounds in the last month bringing me to 12.6 pounds total Sleep:  It's gotten worse. Oh well. At least the trains are the least of my worries now. Any sleep advice for the 3rd trimester? I'll take any I can get. I wake up with the worst back and abdomen pain and I have to rotate multiple times throughout the night since my hips, legs, arms, and hands all start going numb. ha I am ready to buy a recliner and sleep sitting up. It might work out better. Best Moment of the Week: My birthday and my baby shower. (More to come on these later) How could you not have an awesome week with those two things in the mix?
