Father's Day Weekend

So this weekend was fabulous, in fact every weekend since Derek has been here with me has been wonderful.

For those of you who don't know, Derek and I had to be separated after 3 months of marriage for 7 weeks. I came back up to finish my last semester at BYU-Idaho and he was in the middle of his semester at COC in California. He wouldn't be done until June. It was a really hard 7 weeks and I am so grateful that it's over. Having him with me everyday is such a huge blessing in my life. I love him dearly. He takes such good care of me and loves me so much.

Anyways..back to this weekend. We drove down to Utah to visit my family and spend father's day with my daddy. We got down there Friday evening and were greeted with a home cooked meal. Steak. Spinach Salad. Roasted potatoes. Delicious. Saturday we spent the morning getting ready for the boat (pictures to be coming later). We finally left for Utah Lake at 12:30 and didn't get home till around 8:00. Such a fabulous day on the boat. The sun was shining bright and I only got a little sunburned. That's huge for me. Sunday we had a great day at church and later that afternoon had a family feast. Almost all of my mother's family came over to celebrate Father's day with their dad, my grandpa. We had BBQ ribs, apple and walnut salad, rice, homemade rolls, corn on the cob, and homemade ice cream. The food was delicious and it was so nice to see everyone and catch up. I love family and i am so grateful for such a wonderful father. He always believes in me and encourages me to live up to my fullest potential. I love him dearly.

Ok that's all for now. Check out the pictures coming soon!

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come early...like before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of January...so not too long after our sweet girl is born. A little about us: Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5 ...

Oh well. At least the trains are the least of my worries now. Any sleep advice for the 3rd trimester? I'll take any I can get. I wake up with the worst back and abdomen pain and I have to rotate multiple times throughout the night since my hips, legs, arms, and hands all start going numb. ha I am ready to buy a recliner and sleep sitting up. It might work out better. Best Moment of the Week: My birthday and my baby shower. (More to come on these later) How could you not have an awesome week with those two things in the mix? Movement: Lots of rolling and jabbing. I feel like the past couple days she has been moving more constantly. I am loving it. Only two other people have felt her move besides her parents - Samantha and Jami...
