Happy Easter!

My mom made Brooklyn the cutest dress for Easter and we couldn't wait to put it on her and take pictures. She also got a couple of books about the true meaning of Easter from Grandma and Grandpa Power. We spent a nice afternoon at my parents house with tons of delicious foods and great company. We are still perfecting our picture taking skills but we can't help but take lots of pictures of our sweet girl. Happy 1st Easter, Brooklyn!

Brooklyn has really started to develop her giggle and we couldn't be more in love with it. Every time I hear her sweet laugh and squeal I just can't help but smile and love this little girl of ours even more.

                                   

During our Easter dinner we read aloud the story of Christ's atonement, crucifixion, and resurrection. It was wonderful to take time to ponder the true meaning of this holiday. How grateful and blessed we are to have this knowledge. Happy Easter!

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come early...like before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of January...so not too long after our sweet girl is born. A little about us: Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5 ...

Tot School: Week 1

A couple of weeks ago I was talking to some of my friends about starting some kind of regular class where we can get our kids together once a week to learn and play. As an added bonus, we all get to chat as well. That night I started researching different activities that are good for kids ages 18 months-3 years. I put together an 8 week schedule that will include different themes each week so that our children can be exposed to many different things. I couldn't wait to get started. I e-mailed my friends my ideas/schedule and once I knew who could participate I went shopping to pick up supplies. Everything I have needed so far I found at the Dollar Tree and Micheal's. Today was our first class and it was a lot of fun. Our theme this week was animals. As everyone arrived I let them pick out a folder and decorate it.
