My new thing

So I know I need to blog about Europe. We just go home on Sunday night and I can't wait to tell you all about it and share some pictures with you. I just need to decide which pictures to share since we took so many. I loved it though. So much fun and saw some of the most beautiful things.

Until that blog post I just had to share something that was on my mind. So I have reached a standstill with my weight loss. I am just hovering around the same number (down 11.4 pounds!) and I want/need to loose more. So in an attempt to revamp things I decided to try a new workout. Oh my goodness I am so sore! It was so hard but fun. It's called PiYo and it's my new workout in addition to Zumba. My poor triceps, thighs, back end, etc are so sore. I love it though. Such a good feeling. If you can you should check it out. It's a combination or Yoga and Pilates so it includes strength training and flexibility to build long, lean muscles.

Here's a sneak peak:

If you have a gym that offers this you MUST try it. You feel challenged and stronger by the end of the workout.

Ok that's all. Hope you're all having a fabulous day. I am not looking forward to the snow storm coming in tonight.

  2. I heard about that the other day it sounds cool. Do you have a DVD of it? Or do you just go to a class at your gym?

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your holiday season. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So the past couple of days I have really been thinking about how I can reflect the true meaning of Christmas in my home. It's a good reminder to not only seek Him this time of year but thr...

Big News!

So this is big news for the Power family. I know many of you know a million other people who are currently pregnant but before you roll your eyes and skip over this post completely (ha), read on and hear a little bit about our story. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. We just found out yesterday that we are expecting a baby girl. She is due to enter this world on January 3, 2012. So far she is healthy and growing strong. She is growing about a week ahead of schedule. Maybe she'll come early...like before the end of the year. Derek and I will celebrate our 3rd anniversary on the 16th of January...so not too long after our sweet girl is born. A little about us: Derek: One of the things I love most about Derek is how patiently he accepts trials in his life. He always has such a good atitude about what life has handed him. When he was 11 or 12 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Then at age 19 he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.  He has now been in remission for 5 ...

Tot School: Week 1

A couple of weeks ago I was talking to some of my friends about starting some kind of regular class where we can get our kids together once a week to learn and play. As an added bonus, we all get to chat as well. That night I started researching different activities that are good for kids ages 18 months-3 years. I put together an 8 week schedule that will include different themes each week so that our children can be exposed to many different things. I couldn't wait to get started. I e-mailed my friends my ideas/schedule and once I knew who could participate I went shopping to pick up supplies. Everything I have needed so far I found at the Dollar Tree and Micheal's. Today was our first class and it was a lot of fun. Our theme this week was animals. As everyone arrived I let them pick out a folder and decorate it. I also took a picture with the kids and their moms. We started by reading a couple of animal books I had on hand. The kids loved them because they were flap books a...
